Thick Chocolate Milkshake

A real milkshake you can make in five minutes. Keep the milk to a splash so it stays thick enough for a spoon and a straw.

  • Prep5 min
  • Serves2

Ingredients

  • 3 cups vanilla ice cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • A pinch of salt
  • Whipped cream, to top (optional)

Steps

  1. Add the milk to the blender first, then the ice cream, cocoa, vanilla and salt.
  2. Blend on low until just smooth, about 30 seconds. Stop sooner for a thicker shake.
  3. Pour into two chilled glasses and top with whipped cream if you like.

Kate’s tip. Chill the glasses in the freezer while you blend. It stays cold longer.
